IMPORTANCE OF LANGUAGE
Importance of
Filipino Language. Obviously, language is a valuable tool used to convey one's inner ideas and
feelings. Not only is this a way for him to communicate with others but he also
uses it to make friends, discuss and share his various opinions and thoughts.
Throughout history, there have been many things, situations and events that
point to the importance of language to the people, to his environment and
especially to his country.
Language does not
just represent a person. It is not just a vehicle for expressing one's own
thoughts, opinions, personal observations and values but is a vessel that
expresses aspects of a community or nation. Language also represents the basic
conveyance to others of social identity. In short, language helps to preserve
the feelings of a country's culture, art and nationality. The Filipino
language, the national language of the Philippines, is the language spoken in
all corners of the country. It serves as a belt to bind the citizens so that
they are one of their thoughts, dreams and road to battle. It is difficult to
imagine that no single language would provide the means for uniting the islands
of the Philippines. This can cause confusion and misunderstandings. Although in
any form, whether in writing or speaking, language is the most effective way to
convey thoughts and preserve the history and records of ancient Filipinos. In
this instance, current citizens will be aware of the actions taken in the past
to keep it going in a positive way and to avoid any unpleasant events in the
past. This is the light that will be the light of the Filipinos to further
their efforts. It will also serve as the impetus for the fulfillment of the
original dreams. Over time, language
will prove to be the most important weapon for a nation to bring its people to
the events, history and parts of its economy. It is also the language that is
the center of the people in order to push their governments to their ends.
One can sense in
his native language the intensity of his emotions, the depth of his
personality, the character of his environment, the extent of his culture and
art, his mastery of any field and the reality of his work. On the whole,
language serves as a way for a person to become a complete person and a nation
as a whole.
